(Foto: El País de España)El legendario telescopio Hubble sigue dando satisfacciones. Acaba de tomar las fotos más lejanas del Universo, cuando este sólo tenía la bicoca de 600 ó 900 millones de años (los científicos todavía no lo pueden establecer).
Las dimensiones del Universo muchas veces son incomprensibles para la mente humana. En algunos casos vemos como si fueran estrellas el rayo de luz que todavía está viajando a nuestros ojos cuando la fuente que lo originó ya desapareció.
La nota del diario El País dice lo siguiente:
El veterano telescopio espacial Hubble sigue dando satisfacciones a los astrónomos. Ahora, con la nueva cámara instalada este año, la WFC3, el observatorio ha tomado imágenes en infrarrojo cercano de un campo de galaxias en las que están las más lejanas que había fotografiado hasta ahora. Corresponden al cosmos cuando habían transcurrido sólo unos 600 o 900 millones de años desde el Big Bang.
La fotografía, producto de observaciones realizadas en agosto pasado, se denomina Campo Ultraprofundo 09 (HUDF, en sus siglas en inglés) del Hubble, y supera y complementa a las observaciones de este tipo realizadas en 2004.
